Music Department
Welcome to the Music Department of Blessed William Howard Catholic High School.
Music is a means of communication and expression. Music can change the way children feel, think and act. It affects emotions and moods and provides opportunities for pupils to work both individually and as team members. It is an integral part of culture and is considered a central element in the life of the school.
The Music Department consists of two large classrooms, 4 practice rooms and a Recording Studio. The department is well equipped with a range of classroom percussion instruments, guitars, keyboards and computers for composition work.
All pupils in Key Stage 3 receive music lessons and the subject then becomes optional in Key Stage 4.
Many pupils take instrumental lessons and contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school.
Opportunities beyond the classroom for making music are offered to all pupils.
